  • No Pain meds.

  • I think it means vaginally without meds.

  • Vaginally delivering a baby would be my idea. Unfortunately I never had the opportunity. :( My first child was meant to be a natural birth but we ended up having an emergency C section do to life-threatening complications. Then since I got pregnant within the year of having my first and my dr (who I really liked and didn't want to change) would not do Vbac, I had another C section with my second. :( I wish I could have had the experience though.

  • natural birth is defined in medial text books as birth thru the vagina! a non-assisted birth is a birth with no meds or help! I get an epidural, but I still have a "natural birth!" The epidural is not a bad thing! I have a bad hert and without the epidural I would be so stressed that I could have heartfailure, and would then need a c-section, which is an assited birth!

  • Giving birth in the middle of the forest, now that's natural

Answer by Musicmom80 at 1:19 PM on Oct. 6, 2010

  • vaginal and natural are two different things. a vaginal birth with pain meds is not a "natural birth". a natural birth is when you dont have any pain meds or any type of medical interventions, using things like breathing techniques and different positions in place of pain meds. i had one vaginal birth, but it was not natural, i had the epidural :) and my other two were cesareans.

  • To me, natural birth means no pain medication, no epidurals, no medical intervention in any way. I'm currently pregnant, and I want to stay as natural as I can, but I'm certainly not opposed to pain medication, so I guess I'm not going "all natural".

  • "Natural Childbirth is a philosophy of childbirth that is based on the notion that women who are adequately prepared are innately able to give birth to their child, without external intervention" <---wikipedia definition
