What if you dont drink enough water?

I nevverrr drink enough water. even before i was pregnant.
i try an drink it whenever i think about it but ill probably only drink like 2 water bottles a day.
is that damaging to the baby?

  • You can get the necessary water other ways. Fruits and vegatables are filled with water. fruit juices and teas count as well. Just try to stay away from caffine, as its not great for baby and can also dehydrate you.

  • It can cause pre term labor and low amniotic fluid. If you dont like drinking just water then gatoraid or poweraid works well to because they will still hydrate you.

  • If you don't get enough water your body will take it from the fluids the baby needs. That makes me drink my water and then some daily! add crystal light to your water for some flavor if you need it

  • You need to do whatever it takes to get at least 8 glasses a day. Like these guys said, the risks include preterm labor, intense Braxton Hicks contractions, low amniotic fluid, among others. It's dangerous in general, but especially when pregnant. Carry a Nalgene bottle or some other refillable water bottle, and go through that at least twice in a day (ideally about 3 times). Shoot for about 2-3 liters. Your urine should barely be yellow. If it's dark yellow, you're really dehydrated.
