Do you feed your kids a lot of hot dogs and other processed meats?

Children who eat 12 hot dogs or more a month are NINE TIMES more likely
to develop childhood leukemia according to a recent study! I think it's the sodium nitrates. Which is in a lot of processed meats.

  • Nope... My son doesn't like any of those things. Hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken nuggets, he wants NOTHING to do with them. Probably because my fiance used to be a chef, and he's a snob when it comes to food, so that's what he's used to.

  • we do eat hot dogs, but not 12 a month each. id say maybe 4-6 a month each, because they are eaten on a once a week IF THAT basis.

  • Wonderful, especially considering these meats are mostly the only ones I can afford. If ground turkey is considered processed meats we're screwed!

  • Actually I didn't because they really didn't like hotdogs when they were small. I did feed them cheeses which could have been processed though.

  • During the summer time for sure they do. I'd like to think the winter balances it out though.

  • I try to eat as organic as possible, don't really like "smart dogs" but I at least get nitrate free hot dogs once in awhile for my son to eat. He maybe has two a month, tops.
