1 Bump

I took an hpt at 6 days past my period due date and came up negative. What's wrong?

I am 42 years old and had my first child at 41. I've been regular w/period ever since his birth at 28 days. Sept. 5 was my last period. As of Oct. 7 still haven't gotten it. Had some mid-cycle spotting on Sept. 20 with the reddest being on Sept. 21. I don't know what that was since there were no other symptoms beside that. A couple of days before my period was due on Oct. 2, I had some very mild cramping, barely noticeable. I don't know if I'm pregnant or am experiencing some kind of hormonal change. Any info. would be appreciated. Should I test again or go see the doctor?

  • See a Doctor.

  • Menopause? It happens younger and younger. No offense. Otherwise, try another test later. False negatives are common.

  • Could be hormonal changes, including pre-menopause. It'w worth giving your doc a call just to see what's going on. They can check your hormone levels and see what's going on. Good luck!

  • I would call your Doctor but I would also wait a couple of days and take another test.
