Why have none of the Moms on here mentioned

that McCain is planning to DOUBLE the tax credit for each and every child? I would think this would be a pretty important point for this group.

  • Because he can't make that happen on his own. Democratic Congress can block anything.

  • """""Because he can't make that happen on his own. Democratic Congress can block anything.""""

Which means Congress can block all those promises Obama is making too. No one seems to be saying that though.

EXACTLY!  Because Obama says everything so eloquently, and obviously in a hypnotic voice! LOL

  • Except for in the case of Obama... he's a left liberal democrat and right now the majority of congress is also and will most likely go along with him and he with them (which for me is a very scary thought for this country). Where as with Bush... congress blocked alot of things including judicial nomination because they didn't want anymore conservatives in. If Obama gets in we will have a very liberal president, congress, and supreme court... that really scares me.

  • Can you link me on this supposed tax credit increase? I cannot find it on his website. If he's really going to do that it should be there.

Let's be sure that's not another rumor.

  • Haven't you learned yet that positive things are not allowed to be said by McCain, only about the Messiah? Its the way it is on CM's answers board. You will notice any question that proves the majority of Democrats wrong, or says something positive that is 100% true about McCain, it will go pretty much ignored. Its sad, but its a definite trend in this section of CM.

  • his child tax credit will increase $500 per year until it reaches the estimated amount.
i'm fairly certain it's non-refundable so if you pay $5000 in taxes and have 1 child you get all you paid in back. say next year you have another child and still only pay $5000 in taxes eventhough your credit is $10,000 you still won't get anything more back then you got the previous year. basically it doesn't effect you unless you earn more.

  • A description of some of McCain's plans- "Chief among these is a proposed increase to the exemption taxpayers may claim for each dependent — currently $3,500 — by $500 each year beginning in 2010 until it would reach $7,000 in 2016, after which it would be indexed for inflation. Under the McCain plan, married couples that file a joint return reporting adjusted gross income of $50,000 or less would be eligible for the $7,000 exemption immediately. So clearly, middle- and lower-income households with children would receive above-average tax cuts."
