  • The spirit sons that God created were all given the gift of free will. They were all free moral agents, not robots or puppets. The Angelic son we now know as Satan was not created to be God's enemy. He made himself that way by willful disobedience, slander, and purposeful lies. Once he opposed God, he became Satan. That is what the name means. Devil means slanderer. When he opposed God and challenged God's sovereignty by seeking worship that did not belong to him, he became Satan by his own choice. Everything he does is in direct opposition to God's will and is in no way a manifestation of God's will...So if anyone thinks God doesn't understand what it's like to have a disobedient child or a religiously divided household, think again!

  • satan is a fallen angel

Answer by ria7 at 1:53 PM on Oct. 7, 2010

  • In short ..yes. Assuming that God created angels or even if they were just there from the beginning Satan at one time was with God. Satan sinned against God and was evicted from heaven. So angels must be able to choose right from wrong, just like us. Or we're like them.

  • God made everything, including the angels. Lucifer, as Satan is otherwise known, was an angel.

  • Yes, just like He made Adam and Eve, who were initially blameless but allowed themselves to be tempted by Satan. Lucifer was an angel before he decided he wanted to be in charge!

  • Yup, like they said ^
Satan was an angel who thought, "Hey! Why shouldn't I be in charge??"

  • I don't know why people are voting someone down just for sharing their religious beliefs. Seriously, people need to grow up. See it as a learning opportunity instead of snubbing your noses!

  • Yes he did.
