When should you stop praising your child for good things?

I always tell my daughter that I am proud of her when she does something well, but I heard that, that does not help things.. When is too much?

  • I don't really think it is a bad idea to keep praising your child. I believe it helps with their self esteem and confidence.

  • Why should you stop? I see no reason to EVER stop giving positive affirmation when you're proud of your kids.

  • i think people say that because we want our kis to be proud of themselves..not just trying to please their parents. Ask her if sheis proud of herself when she does something great.

  • I don't think you should stop. I think letting them know you're proud of them is what enables them to be proud of themselves.
