To ''What Extreme'' would you go if you found out one of your neighbors was a ''Registered Sexoffender'' ?

Examples: put flyers in ALL your neighbors mail boxes, notify your childrens school, ect...

  • I would find out state registering laws and if I hadn't been notified when I should have I would call the athurities. Also I wouldn't let my children out of my site. And if at all possible, I'd move.

  • Sabrina-usually I agree with you but in this case I dont think a rapist/child molester can EVER serve enough time. If it was up to me they would all get life.

  • I would watch me children. Not the Offender. If I saw something out of the norm with them I would probably call the authorities. But I would not hang fliers or picket.

  • I've lived next to registered sex offenders (and didn't know for a very long time). I'll be honest - I don't see any reason to go to crazy extremes. If I was that concerned about it, I'd be packing up to move! I'd much rather get my family out of that situation so I can breathe easier.

  • I wouldn't do anything, I'm already pretty overprotective and own quite a few guns along with security alarms and what not. I don't let my child outside without my supervision and his dog is pretty protective of him. I'd keep a closer eye on said person but thats about it. IMO you never know who someone really is anyway so anyone could be a crazy in my mind.

  • I would do my research before doing ANYTHING.

Would I notify my neighbors who have kids? Absolutely. Would I go about screaming "fire" because of it? Not a chance.

Lucky for me, I live a football field away from a school... no sex offenders allowed anywhere near us!

  • First, I would find out what they did...child molestor or statutory rape (18 yo with a 16 yo).

  • Find out more information about what they were charged with, and if it was something that was a cause for concern, I'd move. No amount of money or lease is worth the risk and fear. I don't want to have to have my eyes everywhere in case this creep is outside or looking in one of my kids windows.
