(you get back from the store and your child is sleeping)Do you leave your newborn in their carseat (and bring it inside) or do you take them out?

I totally bring in the carrier and let her still sleep :)

  • We would leave her in the carseat and bring it inside! We used to do that all the time when my daughter was still in the infant seat! Now she's in the convertible seat and it's too big and heavy to bring inside when she's asleep! Boooo! :)

  • I always brought the carrier inside since the newborn is asleep 90% of the time.

  • Let them sleep in the carseat of course. Why would anyone disturb the kid and take them out?

  • Great question! lol... I have always wondered what other mommies do :)

I leave him. Once he starts to stir, I pick him up.

  • I would oh so quietly take their seat out of the car, into whatever room I was going to be in and then just take that time for ME!! I love whoever thought of the removable base!

  • Bring in the carrier, for goodness' sake!

Answer by SWasson at 3:49 PM on Oct. 7, 2010

  • Well of course when we used the carrier, we always brought it inside, whether he was awake or not. It just slipped into a base so it was easier that way then to go through the hassle of unbuckling.

  • Sorry I misread. I think we just let him sleep in the carrier (inside the house) until he woke up, but usually he woke up as soon as we got inside anyway.
