when should i start doing kick counts?

  • 28 weeks. Kick counts are where you sit or lay somewhere quiet and count your baby's kicks. You are supposed to do it at the same time every day, and count how many kicks you get in 2 hours (though most OB's will say that as long as you hit 4 in under 2 hours you don't have to count for the whole 2 hours).

  • but remember there are slow days and days they are active.... as long as they are moving your ok... so relax momma... put you're feet up and eat a treat... congrats btw!!

  • What are Kick Counts? My third baby and I have yet to even hear of this...

  • my OB/GYN said to start them around 28 weeks if I were concerned about lack of movement. (But since baby is extra active and a good hitter I don' t really do them, she lets me know she's there and fine enough where I don't need a clock or a monitor to tell she's fine).
