  • It's whenever you feel completely sober. Typically 2 hours from the start of the drink... but everyone is different, so going by the way you feel is more accurate. 1 drink doesn't always require any wait time, it depends on you.

  • I think you should be okay. I agree you have to go by how you feel. And good for you having some mom time, You always need to take some time for yourself. Good Luck!

  • The basic recommendation is 1 hour for every drink. Now if it was a strong drink you might want to wait longer...if it was a normal one an hour is probably fine.

I had a mararita for my birthday on Saturday. I nursed about an hour later.

If you are worried there are alcohol test strips that they sell at the pharmacy to test your milk.

  • You don't have to wait two hours. Really, you don't. And the strips will come up positive for alcohol if you haven't had ONE drink... don't trust them.

  • Well it took me 2 and a half hours to feel completely sober. I guess it was a strong margarita.

  • Just one drink? You can nurse when you need to. One drink is fine. Usually even 2 drinks is fine. After that, I say, wait 2-3 hrs per drink before nursing.
