Jobs report is bad news for Democrats

Todays government report showed the nation continued to lose jobs last month, 95,000 more jobs were lost in September.
Unemployment has now topped 9.5% for 14 months in a row.

Do you still think the Democrat polices are working?

  • And they are surprised by it. I don't see how. Is it possible that they believe their own "newspeak"? They are so wrapped up in telling the American people that what is going on isn't that they have convinced themselves? PBO found a guy to say the recession ended in April 2009; yet, we have just hade 4 straight months of no growth. It only takes 3 months for it to be a recession. So, are we in a recession or not? According to the numbers in my state, I have to say yes. According to the job numbers, yes again. But, PBO and his administration are surprised. No wonder his advisers are jumping ship as fast as they can.

  • The jobs report is bad news for EVERYONE, Nate's, not just certain political groups. Hard to control and stimulate job growth in a global economy where foreign labor is cheaper and no H and WF benefits are involved. It's a whole new world-

  • Companies will not pay American workers $20.00 an hour (incl HC), if they can turf that job to some foreign worker who is willing to work for $50/week and does not insist on HC benefits. All the better if the Co can avoid those pesky corp taxes in the process-

Paybacks hurt the average American. Fix the election system so that BB and unions can not control the election outcomes and mandate/control policy making in the process. Control the bought and paid for elections process and eliminate the corruption and pandering. It goes way beyond Democrats-open your mind and expand your vision/knowledge base. Otherwise, you are just part of the problem and not the solution.

  • Really gertie! Please prove it.

Nates, I do think it will be an additional problem for the Dems.

  • Warren Buffet did say the jobs would be the last to recover. It has nothing to do Democrats alone, it's the collapse of the economy starting way before PBO took office.

  • We are in a recession,aren't we?
We have not hit bottom, in other words it is NOT a depression.
The efforts so far have kept us out of a Depression.
WHat do you not understand about that ?

What do you not get about; THIS is a repeat of the mistaken steps taken during the great depression. The same thing is occurring. Other countries are recovering because THEY cut back spending. The US is spending it's way into oblivion and the recession will keep lingering. Just like in the '30's. And the average length of a recession is two years. That has been the norm when reps have been in control. Put a progressive in and you have the great depression and what we have now. They don't seem to learn from history.

  • There is no magic American wand to cure a global recession. Talk about egocentric......

  • Of course they aren't working. You can't 'buy' your way out of recession.. .

And if memory serves me, wasn't it World War II that actually got us out?! So is that what progressives are "hoping" for....World War III to get us out of this slump, huh?! I don;t recall hearing how we SHOULD be getting out of it...just lots of refuting of Republican/Tea Party ideas!!
