ive been breastfeeding my one month old and i cant seem to get a schedule or pattern together. for ex. she never stays awake long enough to feed off both breasts so i'm always stuck with one really full and engorged boob. Any advice?

  • There is no schedule or rhyme or reason to it. LOL

She needs to eat one side as long as she wants and not be removed until she herself pops off. Then you can go to the other side if she wants more. If she doesn,'t wait till next time she wants some and put her on the other side. You can pump or hand express if waiting means you are in pain. Lots of kids only eat of one side per feeding because they get foremilk, then hindmilk and empty the breast and are full until the next time and empty the other side.

  • dont get her too warm n cozy , rouse her a bit and get her to go on the other side , however your milk will adjust in the end , mine only does one boob a feed and shes 4 months .
