  • They are great dogs, but they can run up a huge medical bill in a short time. They can be good family dogs, but they tend to be stubborn and hyper.

  • No, and I probably never will. After working in pet hospitals for years and working as a representative at the Bulldog Club of America's National Specialty for a couple of years, I have learned quite a bit about the breed. I love their personalities, they truly are wonderful. For me though, their medical problems (constant skin and ear infections, breathing complications, tendency towards obesity, exercise and heat intolerance, predisposition to dental problems, etc.) over shadow any benefits of their wonderful personalities. I'll love them from afar and wish financial stability to anyone who owns them.

  • My sister has an English Bulldog. She is very hyper, stubborn, and destructive but she's a lover. My sister has not put an ounce of discipline into this dog, and I won't let her near my almost 17 month old because she has not been trained very well and jumps on everyone. I would say they're great for a family with older children, and best for someone who is experienced with dogs. They do need a lot of training and socialization (just like ANY dog), and they're susceptible to nasal, hip, and back problems.

  • I've never had one or known anyone who has had one.
