Is she getting enough??

My daughter is almost 6 months old and has been eating baby food since she was 4 1/2 months old. Before she was eating she was drinking 30oz of formula. She ate stage 1 foods for about two weeks and then at 5 months moved to stage 2. She doesn't eat cereal, tried it but she didn't like it but i do use it to thicken some of her food.

This is her regular daily routine...

6:00am- wakes, 5oz bottle

8:00am- 2oz stage 2 fruit

10:00am-5oz bottle

12:30pm-2oz stage 2 fruit, 2oz stage 2 veggies

2:00pm-5oz bottle

4:00pm-2oz stage 2 fruit, 2oz stage 2 veggies

5:00pm-5oz bottle

7:30pm-5oz bottle

She goes to bed for the night between 7:30 and 8:30pm and sleeps until 6am, she doesn't wake.

She does spit up a bit after eating but no more then she did when she was just formula fed.

She is around 16lbs and 25in long with a 42.5in head measurement.

  • I think you mean 42.5cm head
She is getting a total of 25oz formula, so yes she is getting enough of that. Everything else should be as her appetite dictates. As long as her formula intake stays between 24 and 32oz you're good to go.

  • If shes not screaming then shes probably not hungry. Shes getting enough formula for nutrition....I Dont think its anything to be concerned about. She may just need to be moved onto the occasional table food a little sooner so that she can get some texture in her food.

  • no need for baby food at this point. table food is tstier, more nutritious, and has fiber. and is cheaper and lest wasteful. check out baby led solids particularly the Gil Rapely article.
