If you don't agree with or believe in the subject of a non-debate question, why answer?

This has confused me for so long! I don't understand why someone would answer a question if they don't know anything about the subject. If there's a question like, "What's your favorite horror movie?" and you don't like horror movies, why answer the question? I don't understand it! I know that these kinds of questions get asked a lot, it just bugs me when I see answers to questions like, "I don't believe in doing that," or "IDK."

  • IDK, I don't believe in non-debate questions......snickering giggle snort

    yes I am a dork...

I think a lot has to do with the points too. Or they think they will change someone's mind if they police the answers section for things they disagree with.

  • Haha, to be honest, though, some people just like inserting their opinions, or even lack thereof, just because they like the "sound of their own voice", so to speak.

  • You get awards for answering questions in each category. that's why. I've already seen people post "new topic please, thanks for the three points" in debate threads.

  • Point whoring or just attention whoring, take your pick. My favorites are the ones that whine about "this subject again" or "can't we stop talking about this now" when they just got their butt handed to them in a different question on a related subject.
