Does anyone know how many weeks it takes to get a first time passport?

  • It can take up to 6 weeks for the standard processing, but usually they come quicker than that. If you need it pretty quickly but don't want to pay for the expedited processing up front, you can send it in and check on the status, THEN pay for the expedited processing if it won't be ready in time.

  • Not too long, when you go to fill out the paper work you can pay a small fee and ask them to expedite it.

  • We applied for the kids' passports on July 12th, 2010 and got them on August 15th, a month. The processing times are currently 4-6 weeks...Dh's renewal took about 6 weeks.
