What could cause darkening areola's?

What are things that could cause your areola's to darken? Should I see my doctor?

  • It's possible, but my period isn't due for like a week. Wouldn't this be a little early?

  • I think it's usually around 6-8 weeks.

  • Are you on birth control pills? The hormones in that can cause darkening as well. If not, you may be pregnant. If you're concerned at all, go see your Obgyn!
