What do you do for spider bites?

my dd got 2 bites, was told to use salt and baking soda packs...

  • If it's itchy, you can use benadryl cream or give her benedryl. Use cold pack/ ice to bring down the swelling. I learned the baking soda pack was for bee stings, but I can't think of any reason why it wouldn't be good for spider bites too. If it seems to get worse she'd need to see a doctor, because a spider bite could cause underlying tissue infection. That's rare though.

  • I agree with Kjrn79 I have also used Acetaminophen for pain and camphor for taking the sting out . But old wives tales will tell you to use Baking soda and it really works.
