How do I sleep through the night?

I am having trouble sleeping at night because I don't have a peaceful mind. What should I do?

  • Keep a thought journal by your bed, and write your thoughts out. Meditation is also good. When my mind is too busy to sleep, but my body is exhausted, I lie flat on my back, take slow, soothing breaths in and out, and focus on relaxing each part of my body individually from my toes up. It usually disengages my mind enough, that I'm able to drift off to sleep before I even make it half way up my body.

  • Have you tried taking a Benedryl? That's what I do if my clock gets all turned around.

  • I used to write down what was running through my head when I woke up during the night. It helped me "put it away" and remind me address it the next day. And I think warm milk really does help. Just ideas..........
