Why does the fire truck always show up with the ambulance?

If it isn't a fire emergency... why do they have to respond also?

I'm sure there is an obviously legitimate reason I just can't think of right now, lol.... so I apologize if this is a stupid question.

  • Firefighters are also EMTs. They are called as well as the EMTs. Sometimes they help lift a patient safely etc..

  • I've often wondered that myself. Unless it's because firefighters are also trained for life saving situations and are there for back up for the paramedics.
