Should i straighten my curly hair before getting highlights?

I have curly(permed) hair,, i got it done about 8months ago.. its starting to grow out.. Im going to get my hair trimmed and highlighted today. should i straighten it so itll b easier to highlights i usually straighten my hiar anyways bc the perm is almost grown out....So what do u think i should do??   • Ask your stylists how those two chemical processes interact and which one you should do first.

  • No need to do so. At least if you mean by using a flat iron.

    Now if you are talking about chemically straightening it, then yes you need to do it before you highlight as the solution will strip some of the color out. You also really need to wait 2 weeks between chemical treatments.
