  • That his disciples would be preachers and teaches, "...catching men alive.” [Luke 5:10 and Romans 10:13]

Matthew 24:14 "And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come."

Worldwide Jehovah's Witnesses are now carrying out such a work.

  • They were fisher men who went out to catch fish. Jesus said "I will make you fishers of men" meaning his word will go through them and they will spread it and bring men to know Jesus and God.

  • They were fishing for fish, but when they followed Jesus they would "fish" for men. They would tell men about Jesus and rescue them from their sinful state. He was saying he would change their purpose and direction in life.
