i was wondering does the mucus plug have to come out for you to start to dilate. because i think i might have dilate already my hubby told me he can tell when we are having sex. but i have had alot of discharge but idk i am only 34 weeks and 2 days what do you think?

  • my plug didn't come out til they broke my water for me at 7 cm...so no

  • Not necessarily. And he shouldn't be able to tell. Your plug can come out and reform.

  • Throughout your pregnancy, your cervix has been closed and protected by a plug of mucus. When the cervix effaces, the mucus plug is loosened and passes out of the vagina. The mucus may be tinged with blood. This passage of the mucus plug is called "show" or "bloody show." You may or may not notice when the mucus plug passes. For sure your husband wouldn't know the difference if that happens.
