  • pro's u get to show off something u think is imp in ur life w.out speaking a single word.
con's: can lead to infection (when u first get it) and u will have to do touch-ups to keep it fading. and when ur skin begins to sag w/ age, it wont look as nice.

  • the pros: It's a very artistic way to express oneself, you are supporting local artists, great conversation starter, can be sexy and very meaningful
the cons: if it's easy to see, some jobs won't hire you, it's with you the rest of your life so it better be something you'll like in the years to come!

  • Cons:
    1. they're permanent and may date you (and your taste) very quickly (think 'tramp stamp' from the '90s)
    2. risk of disease and infection (hepatitis is still contagious from dirty needles, but all open wounds can get infected)
    3. risk of the tattoo artist being ... less talented ... today, or overall (have you seen some of those failures?)
    4. many people, in many walks of life, have extremely harsh judgments of people with tattoos
    5. very expensive and quite painful to remove
    6. some people get keloids --thick scar tissue the continues to grow and thicken
    7. painful and expensive to get

    Pros:
    1. they may be personal, beautiful or deeply meaningful
    2. they are removable
    3. they can quickly identify your association with a particular sub-culture (although that may turn out to be a con, depending...)
    4. they may be helpful in identifying your body when you die

  • Cons: They're permanent, some people think they hurt, if it's a bad shop or artist you could possibly get an infection or the tattoo may not be as pretty as you hoped, sometimes they're expensive, can be a pain to remove.

Pros: They're permanent (yes this is both a pro and a con, so you have to be sure you want it), they can be beautiful, they can be a wonderful way to show off something you love, some crazy people (like me :) think they feel awesome, it's a great way of self expression, it's art on your body, can be a good conversation starter, they can be sexy, they support a local artist, smaller ones can be covered up instead of removed if you change your mind about it.
