move on and forget it?

Something happens in a friendly relationship, lets say between to friends. The offender apologized profusely the "friend" accepts the apology. Does this mean you forget about it and move on? I'm not involved in this directly, just a bystander, but to me you don't go out to other friends and gossip and continue to talk about the offense. Am i wrong? This to me says "what happened to true friendship".

  • Forgiving and forgetting may be two different things (I know because I can forgive, but I can't forget) but you do move on and keep it to yourself, if you are going to forgive the person, you don't keep dredging up, even if only to gossip to others, whatever the issue was you supposedly forgave them for
