How come my 2 months old son doesnt want to eat??!

He sleeps all day & when i tried to wake him for feeding he gets really cranky & he cries a lot before he eats...& when he does eats he only eats 2-3 oz every 3-5 hours....Other babies at his age consumes about 4-5 oz every 3-5 hrs or so but thats not the case with him!! :(
Im afraid he wont get enough nutrition....
Does anyone out there have that same problem & if so how did u get your kid to eat more?? HELP!!

  • My DD wasn't a big eater either. I would discuss it with your pediatrician, but it's probably not a big deal.

  • My DD is 6 months old and sometimes she only drinks 2-3 ounces. She only drinks 5-6 ounces once or twice a day. The rest of her feedings are like snacks. But she is gaining weight and healthy.

  • Is this new or has it been going on his whole life? Is he breast fed or formula fed?

  • I am a firm believer in not waking a sleeping baby, sometimes some babies dont eat as much as other babies, if yours doesnt wake up to eat then dont wake them up! If they are hungry they will wake up, thats my take on it, and if it trully becomes a problem then call your doctor and they will give you supplements, but dont worry mama, your baby is fine..
