baking chicken breast at a low temperature? NEED QUICK HELP

I need to pick up SO from work, it'll take me about an hour, I have cut up chicken breasts marinating in peanut sauce, can I put this in the oven at a low temperature and not ruin it somehow so we can eat when we get home? How long would 1-inch pieces take in the skillet? Should I just wait?

  • Cooking chicken at a low temp is not a good idea because it doesn't get hot enough, fast enough to kill bacteria (if you're concerned about food safety). Small pieces shouldn't take very long in a skillet, so I would wait!

  • Put it on about 300. It'll be done in an hour. Make sure you cover it.

  • Throw it in your slowcooker. Not sure if it would be ok in the oven.

  • Okay, I am going to hit my common sense button and wonder "what if there's an accident?" Better just cook it in the skillet. Thanks moms.
