Anyone ever regret NOT vaccinating?

So new mothers vaccinate & then regret it later on sometimes...
But did anyone ever NOT vaccinate & then change their mind later on & vaccinated?
Or maybe not vaccinating had a negative effect on you/child that could have been prevented with a vaccine?

  • Nope. My first child got all her vaccinations and never had a problem. Our second child got her first and get very very ill. We did not allow her to have another until she was 2 and again she was very ill. We have waited until now that she's 3 1/2 and we just had one and she didn't have any problems. I'm so glad we waited.

The thing you have to remember is, it's not that people don't want their children vaccinated, its that we don't want them sick! If children didn't have reactions to the vaccinations mothers wouldn't have a problem with them.
Plus some vaccinations are just stupid - chicken pox? Seriously? An estimated one child a year dies from chicken pox, but 100's have a reaction to the vaccine. Makes you wonder if the child that died of the chicken pox oh maybe had some under lying health issue to begin with?

  • Sorry "AtHomeMommy-3" that's incorrect. MANY of the children in my daughters public school have not had their vaccinations. All you have to do is sign the waver.

  • Nope... My first two are vaccine free, and number 3 is due in Dec, she will be too! I can't imagine anything that would make me regret that choice!

  • Nope. Nothing so far. But even if my son came down w/ a virus that has a vax I dont think I would regret it. vaccines are not a golden ticket to immunity.

  • I started vaccinating my son then stopped. Then he caught a really bad cold & I freaked & made sure I caught him up on everything.

  • Actually, you are misinformed AtHomeMommy-3, all states have some form of exemption form that allows unvaccinated children to attend public schools.

How long ago was that and have you stayed up to date since? Just curious.

  • I keep my children up to date on ALL of their shots. I don't want to take any chances. Besides, most schools will not allow the child to attend unless they are up to date on all vaccinations.

  • I will never NOT vaccinate my children!!! Both of my kids are up to date on all their shots, and I myself am going in for my Tdap booster next week!! If BCG was offered in the states, they would be getting vaccinated for that, too. Bcg is the vaccine against tuberculosis.
