Ripping out the carpet would be last resort but....

SO's ex had a yippy dog that peed in the spare bedroom. He has used the carpet cleaner with solution a couple times and it still has a urine odor.
Any solutions that you can think of to help with this?
Vinegar? Baking soda? I need the recipe or amount to mix as well.

  • I would not use both on the carpet at the same time. But if you clean the carpet with just vinegar. Then after it is dry sprinkle with baking soda. And let sit for a few days the vacuum.

  • Try Nature's Miracle or OdorBan. Otherwise, there is also a urine scent remover at the Dollar Tree that works pretty well.

  • If the area is small enough to spot clean, mix water, laundry detergent, and baking soda into a paste (there is no perfect measurement) and spot clean the area. Then clean it with the carpet cleaner. If that doesn't work, let it dry and then spray the area with vinegar and spot clean that.
