Do the drug companies have too much influence... you think med schools cover drug training well enough, or are doctors too dependent on the info provided by drug company sales rep's and drug company sponsored seminars and luncheons?

  • I personally believe doctors rely solely on info provided by pharm reps. I don't know about you but every time I'm in a doctor's office (at least 700+ times over the last 10 years ... seriously), the patients in the waiting room are outnumbered by the sales reps by nearly 2 to 1. They don't call this day and age "Pharmageddon" for no reason!

  • I think so too. But I also think that as a doctor, it's their job to do their own research on medications instead of just relying on info provided to them by a representative.
