  • We told her tonight is your last night with your binkey and tomorrow you will be too big for it. The next night we let her put it in the trash herself (she was actually excited about that and did it nicely). In bed, she cried for about 15-20 minutes and went to sleep. By the third night there was no crying and she just fell asleep. She was about 1 1/2. It was much easier than I expected. She also wasn't able to have her pacifier during the day though so she wasn't used to having it often, maybe only 30-40 minutes a day.

  • With our son we took away cold turkey when he turned 1. That worked for him and us. When our daughter turned 1, we only let her have it at her nap time (which was once a day) and bedtime. After about a week or two of that, we only gave it to her at bedtime. Few more weeks of that and we took it away completely.
