If you are against DADT?

What arrangements would you make to facilitate this? Should we segregate gays and non gays. Is it only ok for gays to believe they should be able to be "out"? What about the men and women who don't want to bunk or shower with gays? Do they lose their rights?

  • NotPanicking, not ALL service members agree with the homosexual lifestyle. They are going to have to respect the wishes of the current service members and their accommodations. There are going to have to be separate barracks built for those that wish to not be housed with homosexuals. They are also going to have to determine how the homosexual relationships will be recognized benefits wise. It is not something that can just be changed with the snap of your fingers.

  • Why would you need accommodations? They already shower and bunk together. Are you afraid knowing someone is gay can" turn you gay" magically?

  • I don't see how knowing who's gay and who isn't is going to change anything. They already bunk together with no issues. The only difference would be that someone can be open about who they are, rather than having to hide it. But those people are living with, showering with, serving with heterosexuals already, without any issue. So why does it have to suddenly become an issue? I would expect people serving in our military to be more mature than that, and to appreciate and respect the huge commitment military service is and to honor those making that commitment and serving beside them more than that - gay or not.

  • Parrishsky how is it homophobic to ask how the regulations and accomodations will be changed if DADT is done away with? These are hypothetical questions that could seriously turn into a logistical nightmare for commands.

  • Replace 'gay' with 'black' and no-one would even be considering this wuestion. So why is it okay to treat some people as less than human and not others?
Just because you don't like someone for whatever reason, doesn't mean you can remove their right to serve their country. Racist, sexist, homophobic, deal with it or shut up.

  • Here it is AGAIN! The MAJORITY forcing their beliefs on the MINORITY...when the MINORITY gets (or ALMOSTgets) the MAJORITY starts making up imaginary rights...Being OPENLY GAY only means they dont have to LIE in fear of being FIRED. They can carry pics of their partners....

They are ALREADY showering and SLEEPING with gay soldiers....Who's rights are being infringed upon? the GAY soldiers..why dont you CARE about THEIR rights??

Any/ALL changes to military code/enforcement require training.

  • Older, his ruling is just as worthless as the piece of paper his decision is written on. A judge cannot make any rulings on Military Code. Military Code comes from Congress.
