Why is there white residue in crock

After I used my crock pot I cleaned it like I always do and the next time I went to use it there looks like a white residue.
Can anyone tell me what it is and why?

  • Possibly hard water stains? Clean it up with warm water and vinegar. Leave it sit for an hour or so.

  • Yeah I agree- either that or soap scum- did you use a diff soap or new sponge? Hope the vinegar works!

  • I will second the water stains. Let is soak for a while after using it, you can try adding some vinegar to the soaking water, see if that helps.
