  • It's not age, it's maturity. I know some 16 year olds I would not leave home alone.

  • It depends on the kid, how long they woudl be left alone, maturity level, are they responsible for watching another child..etc. Most states have laws about the age a child can be left alone and for how long.

  • here in Georgia law is no sooner than 9. and from 9-12yrs, they can only be alone(not babysitting others) for no more than 4 daylight hours, no night hours.

  • It's law and maturity and length of time. Basically it's good judgement by responsible parents.

  • The Bump means that someone thought it was a good question and the bumped it so it might be seen by more people. There is a section where people can read most bumped questions

  • In PA, they legally have to be at least 13. Depending on the child, I would say use the law as a base and go from there.

  • We live on a military base and the children have to be 10 to stay home alone. IMO, it depends solely on the maturity and responsibility of the child.
