whenever i lay my fondant over my cakes, it looks can i fix this?

  • Use a butter cream icing underneath to even out the lumps and bumps on the cake surface first, that should help

  • OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO crumb coating of buttercream...... yum! Or jam!

  • First do a crumb coat. This is a thin layer of buttercream meant to seal in all the crumbs. Very thin. Next, do a thicker layer of buttercream, smoothing with an offset spatula. Carefully overlay the fondant, smoothing as you go. It takes time and practice to get fondant smooth, trust me! :)
