question about nail color

So my husband and I are going to the Marine Corps Ball at the end of the month. My dress is a gray/gunmetal color. All of my accerories are black, shoes, earrings, ring. Anyway my question, I really don't want to have my nails done because i just don't want to spend the money. So I was thinking of just painiting them myself. What color would anybody reccomend to go with my dress? I was thinking of a deep red marronish color. Just for a pop of color. What do you ladies think?

  • you can never go wrong with a true or deep red, or french. however, there are some very pretty colors that would be similar to your dress; perhaps choose one that is fainter, or contains just a bit of shimmer??
