8 month old not eating as much?

my dd used to have 4-5 7oz bottles a day and 1-2 jars of baby food a day and now she has 3 bottles and 1 jar of baby food a day. is it ok? i try to feed her more but she just turns her head back and forth so i stop. she is around 20 pounds and over 27 inches tall so i think she is doing fine. was it just a growth spurt?

  • She might have been going through a growth spurt. What I have been told by my dd's nutritionist an ideal meal plan for an 8 month old is: 3-4 bottles totaling 24-32oz., 4 or more tablespoons veggies, 4 or more tablespoons fruit,4 or more tablespoons iron fortified cereal. Feeding on demand for the first year is recommended, but this is a good guideline to be sure your LO is getting all the calories and nutrients she needs.

  • Could've been a growth spurt. Or maybe she's beginning to teeth? I know that when DS was teething, he wouldn't eat as much (he was EBF-ed though, but the sucking hurts them sometimes).
