every 10 minutes or only 5???????

im 38 weeks pregnant and my contractions are every 10 minutes, i know its saposed to be every 5 minutes but does this mean im close to labor?

  • nope they could be braxton hicks they have to get to every 5 maybe even less then every 5

  • Yeah they need to be every 5 or less, btu start packing your bags and get ready in case they start to speed up

  • i'd say if they get progressively worse and stronger and closer together as time goes by its the real thing, if they stay the same its not

  • Also, try to lay down and see if they go away.~~ A nap might be the best thing right now....if you can sleep, then it's not full labor and you can get the rest that you will need soon!! If they hurt so bad that you can't sleep, and they keep coming, then go to the hospital. =)

  • You're probably not going into labor, but you do need to go ahead and call your doctor anyway. It could be something else (like a bladder infection). If it's some kind of infection, it needs to be addressed before you do go into labor. They could just be braxton hicks, but I would go ahead and call your doctor, even if it's just for reassurance.
