I am looking for a good sugar cookie recipe.

I want to do cut out cookies for Halloween with my girls, but I don't have a good recipe. There are so many out there that I'm not sure. I want something that has a good flavor and is a softer cookie. We like them soft, but not too "doughy". If I find a good one I want to use it for christmas too.

Thanks

  • They remain the same shape as when you cut from the cutters. They don’t spread at all.
    "No fail sugar cookies."
    2 cups butter
    2 cups sugar
    2 eggs
2 teaspoon vanilla or almond extract
    3 teaspoon baking powder
    6 cups flour
    1 teaspoon salt
Preheat oven 30 minutes at 350. Mix butter and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla. In bowl combine dry ingredients and add slowly to mixture. Roll out on baking sheets. Refrigerate one hour. Cut and bake. Bake at 350 for approximately 8-10 min. Check regularly
