WYR: Watch Showtime or HBO?

I've been a subscriber to Showtime for a number of years and have liked many of their shows, but recently I subscribed to HBO as well to watch True Blood. I find that I feel more comfortable and more entertained watching shows on HBO than on Showtime. It's not that the shows on Showtime are bad, they just seem more contraversal and it seems like the producers or whoever on Showtime are just looking for a reaction from the viewers rather than trying to entertain them. I find HBO's shows more entertaining and less contraversal and I like that in a show.

Sorry for the long rant but those are my thoughts. Feel free to share.

  • I like both. I have my shows on both of them. I couldn't not have one of them. haha I've got in to deep w/both networks.
    Showtime- Weeds, Pen and Teller
HBO- Big Love, Eastbound and Down, Life and Times of Tim.

Then again, I've never in my life had to pay money for them, any channel for that.

  • I had HBO for years, but then they only had one series that I watched at that is True Blood so I switched to Showtime because they have so many shows I watch like The Big C, Weeds, Californication, Nurse Jackie, and United States of Tara.

  • I don't watch either because it costs too much to add, but at one time, I was a big HBO fan.
