In home daycare charges?

I'm considering watching a 3 year old, a 2 month old M-F 7-4pm. And an 8yo Wed, Thurs, and every other Friday (all from the same family). I have my own 16 month old.

One of the local day cares charges $210 a week for the baby and 175 for the toddler. I recently missed a job because I wanted too much. I'd like to be as reasonable as possible. I cook organic and would plan to do a lot of structured educational activities. What are your thoughts ladies?

And on average in general what is a good price for weekly daycare for one toddler?

  • $300/wk for ALL 3 KIDS? That's a better deal than she'll get from ANY center. :)

  • 25 bucks a day. That's what my sisters do.

  • For the toddler, I would say $125-$150. Check to see what other facilities in your area are charging and average the sums to determine your own price. If you want to get more business, drop $10 off the total.

  • I pay $120 for 5 days regardless of age. And in Ohio, we got a GREAT deal.

  • I pay $130 a week for toddler rate, $70 a week for my school-age son. I supply diapers but my daycare lady supplies everything else.

  • We provide diapers and wipes and our daycare provides food (however I have to provide my son's food due to his allergies) and we pay $31 a day for him (he just turned was $35 when he was younger). We paid $26 a day for our five year old (until he went to K). So, we paid close to $300 a week for daycare last year for our two boys.

  • So would $300 a week be too much for the toddler, the infant and the 8 year old? I guess I'd have her provide diapers and I would provide the food. I cloth diaper my own, but would never want to do that much laundry.

  • It seems that Wisconsin has high day care costs. I've noticed that in other question posts, as well as here, the price is much cheaper than anything around here. the day care I quoted is the cheapest in the area. You know the fish sticks and rice krispie treat place. They would charge $385/ week for the toddler and infant plus some ridiculous supply fees. So yeh, I guess 300 would be a super deal. maybe I should up it to $350 for the cost of organic food. hmm.
