are people born witches or can you learn to be one?

just curious. i no nothing about witchcraft and wondered because of all the stereotypes read in books and seen on tv. and what is the religion mainly about anyway? what makes one a witch other than when you are experiencing that time of month....kidding. seriously though, i would like to know, wanting to expand my knowledge base. currently Christian which is 180 degrees opposite of witchcraft but i am a really open minded christian, so i dont know if i really should even be called one.

  • i understand completely how you feel. my two bff are Wicca and i'm Christian but we all have a physic ability believe it or not kinda like the charmed one (seriously not joking) minus pipers and paige's power. i can see and hear spirits its a gift i value. i don't know whether or not you can learn to do it or if its just born in you.... like what exactly are you wanting to know about it.

  • Some people are in fact born witches but anyone can practice the craft and become a witch but just as any faith or belief you must believe. And you are exactly right, there are a lot of stereotypes about witches. Have been for ages. Just like any belief there are good and bad. Witches are not all evil or worship the "devil". Wiccans, Pagans and Witches believe in the elements...Air, fire, water and earth. the Goddesses and Gods of the elements. We believe in positive not negative energy. Blessings and prayers, purity and love. We do not do spells to harm but rather to heal, protect and so forth. One other thing...There are some Wiccans, Pagans and Witches who do still hold some Christianity dear. Hope this helps your understanding. Many Blessings to you

  • Witchcraft is not a religion, rather it is a practice. You can have witches from all beliefs, not just Pagans. Atheist who do not believe in a higher being can practice witchcraft too. Witchcraft is where one practices magick. That can be done in the form of spell craft, working with symbols, elements and personal energy. We help heal and guide ourselves and others should they ask. What we do is study and practice, ask our fellow practicioner suggestions if we should need. The work we do is not done lightly or friviously but with thought and great care. For instance, I had a friend that wanted a love spell done to MAKE a guy fall head over heels with her. My other friend advised me to never do that for another person....or rather NEVER do a love spell. That is considered bending the will of another person and that is harmful. She advised me to help her do a spell to bring out her qualities that would....cont....

  • I wasn't comfortable doing a spell for someone who was despirate enough to want to put a spell on someone to bend their will to suit her own needs. She just needed to be reminded that she doesn't need to try and "change" a guy but simply allow life to take her on a journey.

  • Be careful what you walk into. Remember what it says in Eph Chapter 6. Like the other person said and as Jesus Christ warned, one spirit leaves and seven more return. They are not to be taken lightly. Neither are the spells.
