New Mom Needs help : ) Hi Everyone I have a 14 month old with a runny nose a bit stuffed up and a little sneeze should I give him a bottle tonight?? Or would it make more flem.........Thank you everyone

  • go ahead and give him the bottle I would just make sure your child is proped up and not laying down.

  • I think a bottle of milk would be OK, but if you give him a bottle at bedtime, plain water would be better. You want him to drink fluids when he has a cold to keep mucus lose.

  • Yes feed him a bottle. Just let him sleep in a bouncy seat or something he is not laying down flat in. Also use a nasal aspirator to clean out his nose this works for my son. Maybe also try a vicks vaporizer.

  • Prop and feed. have him sit up a little after the feeding. I was always told to never skip a feeding unless they are vomiting. Also you can try a cool air humidifier or like she said above some baby vicks.

  • Give him clear liquids after the bottle. It will help reduce the phlegm. You can also prop a pillow underneath the mattress and use a humidifier. Saline drops will also help with a congested nose.

  • I would stick with water until the nasal stuff is cleared. Staying away from milk clears mucus so much faster in my opinion.
