My son's b-day is in two weeks. We just spent an hour going over what he'd like. It's all not age appropriate (4) or things I know he'd never play with. So I just said out of the blue, what about a doll. He got all excited and said thats what he wants. But is it wrong?

I haven't actually bought a doll for my son, but he has taken one of his twin sister's dolls as his own. He puts his baby in the stroller and "hot rods" around the house just like Daddy used to push him. I've seen him playing with his tools with one hand and giving his baby a bottle with the other hand, and I think it is great. I don't think it's girly at all either; he is doing the same things with the baby doll that his daddy has done for him. He's practicing being a good father and a real man. So, I think a doll is a great gift for a young boy, but you may find that some people won't like it.
