  • My 9 yr old daughter used to do this from time to time when she was younger..at first i would run to her aid thinking she hurt herself badly..she would have a small red mark or knot...but then after the first couple times (and calling the doctor) i realized i think she was doing it because she thought i would run to her aid and baby her even thow she was throwing the tatrum and suppose to be in trouble..lol..i stopped running in to resue her..and eventually she did stop..(she realized it hurt) now i do think if they are seriously causing themself major harm while doing this then you should try to hold her to where she cannot throw her head up agaist anything..best of luck to you..hope you find something to help!!

  • if she is slamming it, i would just try to put a pillow under her head so she doesnt do too much damage, but a lil pain might help her to stop it

  • Hold her like you would if you had to get her a shot or haircut and she won't hold still. It is safer than letting her hit her head.
