  • Pinto beans. Slow cooked with ham hocks, onion, & garlic. pull off any meat from hocks, add to beans, & serve with warm, sweet cornbread. Yum!

  • I like black beans, I don't use them terribly often, and only mixed into stuff - taco meat, soups, etc. I love calico beans though - the variety (and I use more varieties than most recipes call for) is better than than any single kind IMO!

  • I like black beans -- I make rice & beans with them, add them to my chili, mix them into scrambled eggs...

  • Pinto Beans! I dont do this often because it is fattening but they are delicious this way! Cook your pinto beans, once they are cooked you pour out most of the water. In another pan you fry 1 lb of bacon. Once the bacon is cooked you cut it up in to small pieces. Do not drain the fat or grease from the bacon. Add the beans with the bacon in with the left over bacon grease and fry them while smashing them with a potato smasher. Then you can enjoy them in a flour tortilla, you can also add a little bit of cheese if you like. The kids love these burritos.
