  • I think it depends on the child and family. I don't think there should be a set age for it.

  • the pacifier is great for soothing and I didn't rush my son tho get rid of it, but I was taking away little by little, when he was 2 I told him he could have it to sleep only and when he was 3 I took him to the dentist and he told him that it wasn't a good thing and he was big already, so when he got home he told me : mom I'm a big boy and I don't want to use braces, so he gave me his pacifier and his blankie too, I couldn't believe, and even with my other son with 1 year old walking around him with his pacifier and blankie he never wanted again... I'm doing the same with my 2 year old and I hope it will work again : )

  • On a full-time basis? Probably by one. My dd is two and she uses it only for nap and bedtime.

  • I took my sons when he turned 18 months. My youngest never had one. I think 18 months to two years. Anything past that I would not allow.
