What to do with plain bread crumbs?

I have a huge can of plain bread crumbs and other than in meat loaf and certain eggplant..etc, what else can I use them with or IN?

If it were corn meal I could use them for hush puppies! But I know of NO other uses for bread crumbs! LOL Just in the old stand by......meat loaf!

Thanks for any suggestions or tips of using them!

  • Use them to coat fish, chicken, pork chops and of course meat loaf.

  • add seasoning and herbs and use it as a breadding.
    You can also add in in your hanburger meat.
    If they are completely unseasoned you can use them in a dessert recipe.

  • add different herbs and spices to coat fish or oven baked chicken breast. rub a little mayo on the chicken then coat.

  • Add seasonings and use to bread chicken, pork chops, etc. You can also put them in hamburgers or on top of mac and cheese (I melt butter and toast in a frying pan first.)

  • There's a recipe my aunt makes. Absolutely horrible for you, but it tastes good - boil up some egg noodles (the wide ripply kind). Drain into a colander and melt 3 Tbs of butter in the pan. When the butter melts completely, put the noodles back in, dump in some breadcrumbs and seasoning, and toss it so the noodles get coated with the butter and the breadcrumbs stick to the noodles. I've tried to think of a way to make it healthier, but it never tastes the same, so I just give up and only make it a few times a year.

  • Thanks everyone.... never really thought about coating fish, or pork chops!

    Just making meat loaf and meat balls!

    I usually use instant potato flakes and flour if I were to fry or bake chicken, pork.
