How contagious is Infantigo?

My son had Infantigo. The doctor says once it has crusted over it is no longer contagious. My question is if he picks at it and opens it back up does it become contagious again?

  • I believe so, but am not sure. The secret is to help it dry out. Calamine lotion.

  • I know it's very contagious but if he picks it again and it opens I'm not sure
